Archivist, historian, educator, author, and photographer
I work at the intersection of photographs, archives, material culture, and history. As the Processing Archivist of Visual Resources at Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, I arrange and describe collections, build pathways to discovery, and help students, scholars, and the public understand visual records in context.
My work combines more than two decades of archival practice with research and teaching in the history of photography and the United States. I am particularly interested in how photographs acquire meaning through their creation, circulation, description, preservation, and use.
